I am sure my Fireplay server is working ok, cause it works from my parents house, but I want to listen to my music at work! This isnt a dealbreaker, so if its not possible, thats ok. My problem is, I want to access it at my work, and my wonderful netamin people block port 9999 which is the default port. I got Fireplay/Firefly installed and it works locally. While the primary purpose of my EX485 isnt to stream stuff over the web, I'll admit its cool. I searched Google and couldnt find anything.Ģ. Is there an easier way to do this? If a program existed that could create a folder based on a filename, that would be great.

I simply and too lazy to manually make 550+ new folders under the Video folder and movie each movie in there. I understand that these parser programs work better if each movie is in its own folder. When I started ripping my DVDs/Blu Rays, I didnt consider using a program like "My Movies" or some other parser to download coverart and IMDb info for my movies, so all 550+ of my MKVs are in a single Video folder. I signed up for an Amazon S3 account and am backing up my digital pictures (since theyre the most important to me), and I am hoping and praying that my music and video collection lives long enough for me to get a couple more drives so I can enable Folder Duplication.ġ. My EX485 was upgraded with a 1.5 TB WD Green drive, and I have all of my media locally online. Hence the WHS as a stable, single solution for all of my music.

Over the past 10 or so years, my MP3 collection has grown to a little under 1000 CDs, plus all my digital photos were hosted on this single Linux PC. Since then, I have ripped some ~540 DVD movies and about 20 Blu Rays to MKVs using Handbrake. At the time, I loaded Ubuntu and the latest version of XBMC to serve as my "Media GUI" for my movies. Last March, I supplemented it with my own Linux based Media Server. My original Xbox is still functional and runs XBMC and I still use it to play classic console emulators. I have been an XBMC user since the days it was called Xbox Media Player on the original Xbox. My primary function was to have a unit that could centrally host all of my media. This is my first experience with WHS and I love it! I feel I am already getting alot out of the server for my use. I recently bought an HP MediaSmart EX485 from Newegg. My name is Mike, I am 31, and I live in the south suburbs of Chicago. Hello, I am new here and had a couple questions that I was hoping you all could help me with.
